    Where do you find us......PHFM....88:00FM.....can be found at the bottom end of the FM dial!!!!!!!.

    The FM dial is from 87:00 - 108:00 and PHFM is on the Tourist radio frequency of 88:00FM......

    The motto of 'Commongroundcommonsense' means that we are all on COMMON GROUND that we all think alike and walk alike and feel alike and as far as COMMON SENSE well we all have commonsense if we use it well.

    This site is for all to visit,is open to comment and as is the radio station that you can listen to.

     

    For those not familiar with Peak Hill,we are a small village 55 kilometers north of the centre of Parkes.We are part of the greater Parkes shire,which altogether has a population of 15,000.Peak Hill  has a population (last sensus) of 1250 and with the aid of this station we hope to grow.

    Our main tourist atraction is the Open Cut Experience which is the old open cut gold mine.We also have the old Carrington Hotel site,the Arts & Craft centre,there are also the old wheat silos,the Bogan Weir,the Peak Hill Hospital and many other things to see......

    For more information about whats available to visit and see in Peak Hill,please visit the Peak Hill Visitor,Arts & Crafts Centre which is located at the northern end of town opposite the post office on the same side of the road. The Vistor centre can be contacted on 02 68691981.

    We as a station will be supporting 'CAN ASSIST' and any funds,donations,and  competitions will be assisting  this worthy organization,so please remember that each dollar that is submitted to PHFM then some of this will be supplied to assist 'CAN ASSIST in their effort to assist those that are less fortunate than us...........

    PHFM is the dream of residents in Peak Hill,Central West NSW.This dream has been in the pipeline for 5 years and it is principally to supply Peak Hill,surrounding areas,the tourists,visitors and all people with a service that has never occured before.

    PHFM (Peak Hill FM) will transmit on a frequency of 88:00FM during the daylight hours on Monday to Friday from 9:30AM til 12:00 mid-day and then from 1:00PM til 3:00PM. The station will also transmit when and if there is an emergency or if the police,SES,ambulance or emergency service request that the station be on air.

    PHFM as a Community Radio Station will 'PROMOTE'  and  'support/advertise' and the station will survive only with the support of the townsfolkand other support,thru sponsorship and donations ,and from subscribers and donations from all concerned.When the word PROMOTE is used,this means that as Community Radio Station on Low Powered Narrowcast that to PROMOTE is to advise and promote,but to  ADVERTISE it is  permitted so as to make money for the station and this  is OK.Community service announcements are promoting where as selling a service or a product is advertising.Community Service announcement to effect Peak Hill will be done FREE

    PHFM will play music,news weather,sports information, general town information,promotion for town activities and anything and everything to do with Peak Hill,Trewilga,Tomingley and all areas surrounding.

    The station will become an intergral part of Peak Hill and the way we will keep afloat is by subscription payment,in which residents and business that subscribe to PHFM will become part of the station and have a say in what is going to be broadcast and what wont be.
